Holder of the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) which is for plants of outstanding excellence, 'Mayflower' produces stunning violet-blue flowers with white eyes in late spring and early summer. Good partners for it include white flowered Dicentra spectabilis and variegated honesty. Its parent plant is native to the damp meadows of Europe and northern Turkey so it is best planted in moist soil in sun or partial shade.
