Plant details
Also known as G. coccineum, this is the familiar geum of herbaceous borders, although plants also settle well into larger rock gardens, developing into neat dense clumps of restrained foliage. They need a little space for their flowers, which tend to be produced on long spreading stems. 'Dolly North' is a fine hybrid, with rich orange-yellow flowers that make a cheerful and care-free display in early summer, after which young plants often continue to flower spasmodically until early autumn, when they are trimmed back to a compact shape. Regular division keeps plants vigorous and healthy.
