Plant details
One of Stephen Lacey's favourite autumn flowering bulbs, he recommends growing Gladiolus murieliae in pots near the house so you can enjoy the piercing night scent. It is from the warmer climes of Eritrea to Mozambique, it is too tender to be left outdoors all year round in the UK so the corms must be lifted each autumn to be overwintered indoors.
