Plant details

Witch hazels are grown for their attractive flowers, which are produced in late winter and early spring, when most other plants are dormant. They require an acid soil to thrive, but can be grown in large containers. Hamamelis x intermedia 'Westerstede' bears beautiful yellow, slightly scented flowers. Its oval green leaves fade to yellow before falling in autumn.

For best results, grow Hamamelis x intermedia 'Westerstede' in well-drained, slightly acidic soil in full sun to part shade.
