Plant details

Hedera helix 'Buttercup' is one of Roy Lancaster's favourite evergreen climbers. Its large leaves are pale green when grown in shade, but in a sunny spot they turn bright yellow.Like most ivies, it can be trimmed into shape at any time of year. Be careful when handling it if you have sensitive skin as its sap can be irritating. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
