Plant details
A lovely ground cover plant, Irish ivy has dark green leaves that have five points. To grow as ground cover, pin down the shoots and they will quickly take root. Alternatively, it can also be grown as a climber. As with most ivies, it can be trimmed into shape at any time of year. Those with sensitive skin should be careful when handling it, as the sap can be irritating. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
