Plant details

The heleniums add plenty of impact to the late summer and early autumn border with their daisy-like red, and yellow flowers, and this is one of the best. It has large, 7cm-wide flowers with a prominent, raised yellow-brown eye and outward-pointing yellow petals. Grow it in drifts, perhaps merging with the red 'Moerheim Beauty' and crimson 'Bruno'. Heleniums aren't too fussy, and thrive in most soils with good drainage. Being quite sturdy, 'Pumilum Magnificum' doesn't need staking.
