Plant details
Rock roses are reliably easy-going, evergreen, shrubby plants that will put on a good show of flowers throughout early and mid summer, given the right conditions. The individual flowers have a frail, papery quality and only last a day or two, but blooming is continuous. 'Chocolate Blotch' is an usual variety as it has buff-coloured flowers which have a chocolate brown mark at the base of each petal. It prefers dry, sunny situations and are suitable for a bank or rock garden. Cut back lightly after flowering.
