Plant details
Blue Angel' is a female variety that should produce a good crop of berries if grown in close proximity to a male holly. It is grown primarily for its dark purple stems and purplish foliage. It forms a large slow growing shrub. Like all common holly varieties, it is a robust plant that's ideal for hedges and screens, both inland and by the sea, but also makes a good specimen shrub. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) in recognition of its outstanding excellence.
