Bearded irises have 'beards' on each of the falls (lower petals) of the flowers. Iris 'Feu Du Ciel' bears orange-yellow standards and falls with a darker orange beard, in contrast with green-grey, sword-shaped leaves. It's ideal for growing in a sunny mixed herbaceous border or gravel garden, and makes an excellent cut flower.
For best results grow Iris 'Feu Du Ciel' in well-drained soil in full sun, and mulch with well-rotted manure or garden compost annually. Divide clumps every three to five years.
