Plant details

This pretty wildflower, which bees love, is found throughout Europe, the Caucasus, Iran to Central Asia and Siberia. A good choice for an informal border, it produces its lilac pincushion-like flowers from mid-summer to early autumn.

Plants prefer a sunny spot in well-drained, preferably chalky soil.
