Lactuca sativa 'Lollo Rosso' is a classic Italian lettuce, with dark copper red, crinkled frilly leaves. It makes a colourful addition to summer salads, and has a refreshing taste. It's easy to grow, and can be harvested as a cut-and-come-again lettuce or left to mature to harvest whole.

For best results grow Lactuca sativa 'Lollo Rosso' in moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. Protect young lettuce plants from slugs and snails. Sow seed successionally over summer and harvest regularly to prevent bolting.
