Plant details
Lamiums have long been valued as good semi-evergreen ground cover under trees and in other shady situations, but most tend to grow rapidly and soon become rather invasive. 'Hermann's Pride', however, makes neat compact plants, and are best planted close together to produce rapid ground cover. The short, upright stems of silver- streaked foliage carry clusters of small, hooded, yellow flowers from late spring to midsummer. Use it to edge a shady border or plant thickly under later flowering shrubs such as hydrangeas.
