Plant details

Attractive annual from the west coast of the USA also known as Tip Tips. In California it grows wild on dry, open slopes, which makes it especially suitable for hot, dry positions. Produces bold yellow flowers, tipped with white, in late spring to summer and will look great in borders, or pots. It has strong stems so is suitable for cutting; cut flowers will last for weeks. It looks particularly good planted with other hardy annuals and grasses in naturalised drifts. It's easy to grow from seed outdoors and will provide a good show, even in the poorest soils.
