Plant details

This compact annual has pretty, cup-shaped flowers and will grow in almost any soil in a sunny spot. Its yellow-centred flowers with white-tipped petals give it the apt name of the poached egg plant. It's an asset in the vegetable garden as a companion plant to attract hoverflies which will feed on aphids and pollinate plants. It will spread and self-seed freely.
