Plant details

Sweet alyssum is a classic summer bedding plant that has long been used to edge borders and containers. The sweetly perfumed flowers are white or purple in colour and cover the low-growing plant all summer long. Sow seed indoors in early spring and plant out once the danger of frost has passed in May or June.
