Plant details
Bushy tree lupins from California have wonderfully sweet-scented, pale yellow flowers at the end of spring. They are fast-growing and sprawling, and make good gap fillers among slower-growing shrubs. The lupins don't live that long, about three years, but are quickly replaced by self-sown seed, which reach a good size the following year. They look very effective when combined with azaleas. It has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the RHS.
