Plant details
Apples with good keeping qualities, lasting in store into the new year, are particularly worth planting in gardens, and may be grown as large trees since a heavy crop does not need using all at once. Like all apples, trees are grafted on rootstocks which affect their size and vigour, and may be trained in a number of different shapes. Pruning depends on the tree form and vigour of the rootstock, and should be checked in a handbook. 'Fiesta' is a modern, regular-cropping variety with a refreshing Cox-like flavour. Blooms are early and partially self-fertile. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
