Plant details

Hybrids of Narcissus tazetta, or bunch-flowered narcissi, are recognised by their smaller flowers with short cups and rounded petals, several blooms appearing on one stem. They are not as hardy as some but have been crossed with other species to produce hardier, larger-flowered forms such as 'Geranium'. This is a lovely hybrid, with pure white petals and a small bright orange cup. It is sometimes used for forcing to flower early in pots, but it is supreme as a garden variety when planted in large groups for flowering in mid-April. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
