Plant details
This most attractive, compact, grassy-looking perennial forms arching clumps of neat, cream and green striped foliage. Because it is not reliably hardy, it is best grown on its own in a container and makes a superb patio plant that adds foliage interest to a group of perennials or shrubs grown for all-year-round effect. Alternatively, grow it in pots and bed it out for the summer by plunging the pots up to the rims in a border. In mild areas, it can live outside permanently and looks good grown with grasses and foliage plants or in an evergreen border. It is also known as 'Variegatus'.
