Plant details
This small plant makes low-spreading mounds of semi-evergreen foliage. During summer the plant is almost covered by flowers the same shape and size as hop flowers, actually a series of bracts, which are rosy pink and apple green. These dry out naturally on the plant and gradually fade, remaining a feature until autumn when they can be removed. Small and special, this is perfect for a rock garden or alpine trough, or in a gravel scree garden. Once established, plants dislike disturbance.
