Plant details
This is a beautiful climber with finely toothed light- to mid-green leaves and beautiful flowers from spring to late summer. The bowl-shaped blooms are bright red with curved outer petals with purple, red and white centres. Yellow, pear-shape fruits follow the flowers. It is a tender plant that may survive outside in warmer areas if the wood has been well-ripened in summer. In cooler areas, grow in a greenhouse border or a large container of loam-based potting compost in full light, with shade from hot sun. It has been given an Award of Garden Merit (AGM), which is for plants of outstanding excellence.
