Plant details

Penstemons produce flowers like foxglove. They prefers a sunny, well-drained position and can be left permanently in the ground in areas without severe winter weather. Elsewhere take cuttings in late summer and overwinter in a frost-free greenhouse or a window-sill indoors. Cut the plant back to ground level in spring. Penstemon 'Red Ace' bears deep red blooms from July to September.
