Perennial or border phlox, Phlox paniculata, is a tall-growing phlox native to the USA, typically with pink flowers. However there are many garden-worthy cultivars available in a range of heights and with different coloured flowers, making them a popular stalwart of the traditional border.

Perennial phlox is renowned for its colourful flowers with a sweet, honey-like fragrance. It’s an ideal choice for the middle of a border, and thrives in rich, moist soil in light shade.

Phlox paniculata 'Laura’ bears large, fragrant, lavender-pink flowers, each with a white centre. Plant it in next to a path where you can enjoy its scent. It makes an excellent cut flower.
