Aquilegia flabellata is a dwarf columbine, bearing blue nodding flowers over a compact mound of waxy grey-green foliage. It's perfect for growing in the rock garden, as path edging or in containers. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Grow Aquilegia flabellata in moist soil in partial shade. Plants are relatively short-lived so allow them to self-seed.
