Cannas are found growing wild in the tropics of southern United States down to South America, and have lush green or bronze foliage and brightly coloured flowers, which appear from midsummer until mid-autumn. They thrive in moist soils in full sun, and work well in exotic ornamental displays either in borders or large containers, especially when planted alongside other exotic-looking plants, such as agapanthus and crocosmia.

Canna 'Lincroft' is a medium-sized canna, bearing large, oval-shaped, mid-green leaves, and open, bright yellow flowers with bright pink spots. For best results grow 'Lincroft' in a moist, sunny border, or in large pots on a sunny, sheltered patio. Keep plants well watered. Being tender, cannas need a little protection to get them through winter. Mulch Canna 'Lincroft' in autumn to protect the rhizomes from frost, or bring pots indoors.
