Foxtail lilies, Eremurus, are stately plants with flower spikes that soar above the border in early summer. They're perfect for growing in a sunny dry border, and work well in gravel gardens.

Eremurus x isabellinus 'Romance' bears clumps of sword-like, green leaves, followed by spikes of pale pink blooms, which appear as the foliage starts to die down. It's extremely attractive to bees and other insects.

For best results grow Eremurus x isabellinus 'Romance' in a sunny, sheltered site in very well-drained soil, ideally where the tubers can bake in the sun after flowering.
