Hacquetia epipactis produces unsual green, yellow-eyed bracts from late winter to early spring, followed by emerald-green leaves. It's a clump-forming perennial that spreads slowly by short rhizomes. Given the right conditions, it's generally trouble-free, although it may need some protection from slugs and snails in spring, and does not like its roots being disturbed.

Grow Hacquetia epipactis in hummus-rich soil in partial to full shade. Propagate by division in spring.
