Lathyrus vernus 'Alboroseus' is a low-growing, bushy plant with long, narrow leaves and purple pea-like flowers borne in clusters at the tips of wiry stems. Its flowers are extremely attractive to bees. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Grow Lathyrus vernus 'Alboroseus' in rich but well-drained soil, ideally in a mixed border among later-flowering plants which will spread to fill the gap when its foliage dies down in midsummer. Alternatively, grow on a bank among low ground-covering plants.
