The Yoshino cherry, Prunus x yedoensis, is an elegant, medium-sized tree covered with small, pink-white flowers, with a delicate fragrance, from April onwards. These develop into small, red fruits in summer. The handsome oval leaves have hairy undersides and colour well in the autumn. They make ideal trees for small gardens, providing interest throughout the year and casting a light shade.

For best results grow Prunus x yedoensis in full sun in moist, fertile loamy soil.
