Gardeners' World 50th Anniversary competitions

Gardeners' World 50th Anniversary competitions

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the nation’s favourite gardening TV show, we’re treating BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine subscribers to a series of monthly competitions, from August through to December.

In our first exciting competition, we gave away a luxury stay at Raymond Blanc’s Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.

Through September, two lucky winners each won one of two prizes from Gabriel Ash: an RHS Rosemoor Greenhouse worth £8,255, and an Upright Cold Frame worth £920.

In October, we announced the two winners of fantastic prizes from John Deere: the innovative Tango Robotic Mower, worth £2,090 and a cordless R40B Walk Behind Mower, worth over £670, for second prize.

For our November competition you have the chance to win an outdoor cast iron oven, outdoor table and cooking accessories from luxury Danish brand Morsø, worth £2,230.

The December prize will be revealed soon. Check this page or look out for details in the November and December issues of the magazine.

The prizes

August prize – winner announced!

This month’s lucky subscriber is Diane Harrington. On discovering she’d won, Diane said “After the initial shock I’m really excited to find out that I‘ve won the August prize in the GW Subscriber Club 50th anniversary competition. We're really looking forward to discovering the secrets of the gardens of Le Manoir and of course to sampling the food.”.

Diane’s prize includes a luxury stay for two at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir hotel in Oxfordshire, a seven-course meal in the two-Michelin-starred restaurant plus a day at Raymond’s Gardening School, worth over £2,200.

September prize – Winners announced!

This month’s lucky winners are Anne Tucker in first place and Maggie Taylor in second. On discovering she’d won, Anne said “I am both stunned and delighted to have won this prize. My two aluminium greenhouses were both second hand and are beginning to look untidy. A new greenhouse will be a most welcome resource.”.

Anne’s prize is an RHS Rosemoor Greenhouse, from Gabriel Ash, worth £8,255.

Second place winner Maggie was equally pleased to have won, saying "I was delighted to hear that I have won the 2nd prize of a Gabriel Ash cold frame. What a wonderful surprise, thank you so much!".

Maggie's prize is a Gabriel Ash Upright Cold Frame, worth £925.

October prize – Winners announced!

Our two lucky subscribers in October were Lesley, Deal, in first place and Rebecca, Windsor in second, each winning prizes from John Deere.

Lesley's prize is a Tango E5 robotic mower from John Deere, worth £2,090. On finding out she had won, Lesley said "Pleased is not the word I would have used. More like ecstatic. I never win so I'm finding it very difficult to believe. Thank you so much".

Rebecca's prize is a cordless R40B Walk-Behind Mower, worth over £670. She was equally pleased, saying "Oh my goodness how amazing, I am thrilled to actually win something. How great not to have leads all over the lawn and try to not run over them".
