Gazania and sanvitalia pot display

Gazania's bright orange daisies add a fiery glow to this tropical planting combination, while the lantana romps away and the sanvitalia busily produces small, daisy-like flowers. The effect is one of guaranteed sunshine, whatever the weather.
Plant it: May
At its best: June - September
Takes just: 20 minutes

How to do it:

1 Find a sun-soaked spot for this container and get out your gardening gloves, as lantana can irritate sensitive skin. Add crocks to the bottom of the pot and half-fill it with compost.

2 Position the gazanias and the lantana in the middle of the pot and surround them with sanvitalia plants. Fill the gaps around your plants with compost, firming it in with your fingers. Lantana are tender, so bring this pot under cover at night if there's a threat of frost.

Our tip

Sanvitalia are one of the easiest plants to grow. Chop them back if they begin to get unruly.
Lantana is a tender plant that needs to be brought indoors for winter, or you can take cuttings in summer.
