  • Thyme plants x2
  • Small euonymus plants x2
  • Pansy plants x2
  • Curry plants x2

  • Large window box
  • Multi-purpose compost
  • Crocks

Overview

This rich mix of colourful, spiky and textured foliage and luxurious, velvety flowers provides a wonderful display all spring long. Position the box within arm's reach and you won't be able to resist running your hand through the grass!
Plant it: September - October

Takes just: 20 minutes

How to do it:

1Position the window box where you want it, place a layer of crocks at the bottom, then three-quarters fill with compost.

2Plant the hair grass in the middle of the box, with the euonymus behind it. Position one pansy on either side of the grass and a curry plant at either end. Plant the ivies towards the front of the box in front of the pansies so they can trail over the edge.

3Fill the container with compost, to within 5cm of the rim, firming around the plants with your fingers to squeeze out any air pockets.

Adam's tip

Plant this container generously for instant impact, but be prepared to remove some plants or trim them as they grow to give them enough room.

This planter looks great and it's definately one that I'm gonna give a good go at doing. I'd like to hope that it'll turn out just as good as this picture......fingers crossed.
