Plant details
A good, reddish-purple plum (raised in 1970) producing large, sweet fruit that's ready for picking in mid-August. It isn't self-fertile, and needs a different adjacent plum to fruit. Plums can be grown as fans against walls or cordons, or half-standard or standard trees. Since the spring flowers are easily damaged by frost (which adversely affects the crop), throw a fleece over the bush if a frost is predicted.
