Pyracantha is a tough, hardy shrub, tolerant of a wide range of demanding conditions, including shaded and exposed positions. It grows into a dense thorny evergreen hedge, perfect for using to cover boundaries and training against walls. It bears a profusion of brightly coloured berries.

Pyracantha ‘Soleil d’Or’ has lighter green leaves than other pyracanthas, which are complemented by huge clusters of yellow berries.

Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Mulch annually with well-rotted manure or compost, and prune in early to mid-summer.
