Plant details
A change from the traditional large-leaved pear, this form makes an ideal ornamental tree for the small garden. The leaves are small and thin with distinctive silvery hairs giving the whole plant a silver colouring. The stiff branches bend towards the ground forming an attractive pendulous shape. In spring plants also bear attractive clusters of white flowers which are followed in autumn by small, non-edible pears. It looks particularly good when planted with dark-leaved shrubs and pastel-coloured flowers.
