Plant details

Perfect for cottage-garden schemes, Ranunculus aconitifolius has a wild and wayward charm, producing masses of loose sprays of single, white buttercups, each with a golden yellow eye. Plants have an open, airy habit and will happily spread among other plants, creating a natural, self-sown look.

Ranunculus aconitifolius thrives in damp soils, and will tolerate extremely wet conditions. It's ideal for growing in bog gardens and around the edges of ponds.

'Flore Pleno' bears white, fully double flowers in early spring. For best results grow in full sun to partial shade, and avid letting the soil dry out. Plants can be quite vigorous, so it's a good idea to dig up and divide clumps in autumn.
