Perfect for that cottage-garden look, this plant has a wild and wayward charm, producing lots of loose sprays of single, white buttercups, each with a golden yellow eye. It has an open, airy habit and will wander through other plants in the border with ease. It can be quite vigorous, so dig up and divide clumps in the autumn if they get too large. It has an extensive root system and fleshy taproots which can absorb water without rotting, making the plant ideal for heavy, wet soils that are too much for many plants. It prefers to grow in some sun, but will also grow in semi-shade or even deep shade as long as it has a sufficient amount of wet soil.
