Plant details

Looking at its distinctively-shaped flowers, it's easy to see how this plant got the common name of Mexican hat. Often grown as an annual, it is in fact a hardy perennial that wil come back year after year. It blooms from early summer to autumn and makes a good cutflower. Its resistance to drought makes it invaluable for dry, free-draining soils, where it thrives in full sun.
