Plant details
This is a clustering cactus from Bolivia and North-West Argentina. It's a spherical, to rounded shape and has a dark green body, or stem, covered in white spines. If you treat it well, you may be lucky to get it to flower in summer. The flowers are a striking, orange colour and they are open, with petals radiating outwards, like daisies. Grow it in pots of free draining cactus compost indoors. Water lightly from spring to summer, applying a fertiliser about three times in summer. Keep it dry at other times. Always give it a position in bright light.
