Plant details
Fairly large, nutmeg-scented, white flowers, sometimes pink flushed, with yellow throats are the main attraction of this evergreen rhododendron. It has a lax habit, and the leaves are hairy and medium sized. Up to four, broadly funnel-shaped flowers are borne on each truss in mid-spring. 'Fragrantissima' should be grown in a cool greenhouse or placed outside for the summer. It can only be grown outdoors all year round in warmer regions, and may need some protection. The Royal Horticultural Society have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit.
