Plant details

A Hybrid Tea rose that's a strong contender for the front of the border where its tall, pointed, elegant buds open to reveal beautiful silvery lavender-bluish-lilac blooms, making it the biggest selling and most popular 'blue' rose. The scent is rich and strong. The only very minor drawbacks are that it isn't disease-resistant, though blackspot is rarely a major problem, and you only get one bud per stem. The climbing version is 'Climbing Blue Moon'; both are also sometimes known by their German name, 'Mainzer Fastnacht'. Good for cut flowers. Needs a warm, sheltered site.
