Plant details
Holder of the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM), this sturdy rugosa rose makes a lovely specimen plant or hedge. Clove-scented, light pink flowers appear throughout summer and are followed by bright red hips in autumn. As a shrub rose, it is best pruned in late summer, after flowering has finished. Prune most stems lightly. To encourage young, vigorous growth, cut back a few of the oldest stems each year.
