Plant details
Nozomi' is a popular ground cover rose, one of the first to catch everyone's imagination and it is now grown in landscaping projects everywhere. But it is more than just robust and trouble-free: the small, double pearly pink flowers stand out well against the lush dark foliage and are produced in huge quantities in mid-summer. It deserves to be used as a feature plant, growing in an ornamental tub, for example, or cascading down a bank or over a wall. The stems may be pegged down to the ground to increase coverage, and plants are often grafted as weeping standards. The only pruning needed is a trim in late winter or early spring if the plant is beginning to exceed its allotted area. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
