Plant details

More than just a promotional or commemorative rose, this robust hybrid tea won numerous major awards in the 1980s, and is a dependable plant for all sites. It will tolerate poorer soils, and will grow successfully in a pot or under glass for earlier flowers. These are noted for their shapeliness and large size, increased by disbudding the stems are short, which gives bushes a neater profile. Its free-flowering ability makes this rose a good choice for massing in beds, especially as neither rain nor hot sun spoil the blooms. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
