Plant details
This is one of the most popular early roses, often in flower towards the end of April in a warm sunny position, and a fine choice where there is space. The stems arch elegantly and make a good informal hedge, trimmed after flowering and, when grafted, the variety also makes an excellent weeping standard. The vivid, single, yellow blooms, with their darker conspicuous stamens, are classic in shape and last for about a month, after which the bushes still look attractive with their fine shapely foliage. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
