Plant details
This is a dwarf, compact, very twiggy willow from Northern Europe which has silver-grey, felty-looking leaves. In late spring, after the foliage has emerged, small, upright, golden yellow, catkins are produced. The winter twigs are greenish to straw-coloured with distinctive buds and add interest to the winter garden. It is an excellent plant to use in the border or even at the back of an alpine bed. The Royal Horticultural Society have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit.
