Plant details
This eye-catching tender perennial from China blooms from mid- to late summer. Its yellow flowers have purple-brown lower lips and bright green calyces. Due to its half-hardy nature, plants can only go outside for the summer. Plant out when the danger of frost has past in May or June and lift in autumn to bring indoors to overwinter in a frost-free place. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or dappled shade. To propagate, take cuttings in summer or autumn.
