Plant details

Scabiosa 'Burgundy Bonnets' is thought to be a form of Scabiosa atropurpurea, and was found by chance in a Suffolk garden. Its pincushion flowers vary from dark burgundy red through to shades of pink and mauve with white stamens. The blooms appear from July to September and grow to around 60cm tall.

For best results, plant Scabiosa 'Burgundy Bonnets' in well-drained soil and position it in full sun. It would look as happy in a wildflower meadow as in a manicured border.
