Coreopsis verticillata, commonly known as tickseed, is an easy-to-grow herbaceous perennial native to North America. In summer and autumn it produces bright yellow flowers that stand out against the delicate, fern-like foliage.
Coreopsis 'Bengal Tiger' bears dramatic, bicoloured flowers in red and yellow, apparently reminiscent of tiger eyes. Perfect for growing at the front of sunny borders or as part of a container display, it has a compact habit and feathery, fern-like foliage. The open flowers attract a range of pollinators including hoverflies and butterflies. It can be propagated by spring division or basal cuttings.
For best results, grow Coreopsis 'Bengal Tiger' in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil, though it will perform better in full sun. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering. Propagate from basal root cuttings in spring.
