Rhododendrons make up an incredibly diverse group of plants, originating from many parts of the Northern hemisphere with a large concentration in China and the Himalayas. They vary from tiny ground covering plants to species growing as understory plants in forests. Most flower in early spring, although some bloom for a brief period in autumn.
Rhododendron 'Anuschka' is one of a group of evergreen hybrids, which is more tolerant of neutral soils than other cultivars. It bears pretty pink flowers in late spring, which contrast beautifully with dark green foliage. It’s perfect for growing in a variety of situations, including containers. Hardy, it’s more tolerant of full sun and exposed conditions than other rhododendrons.
Grow Rhododendron 'Anuschka' in partial shade to sun in moist but well-drained, acidic to neutral soil, or (preferably peat-free) ericaceous compost if growing in a container. There is little or no need to prune. Propagate by layering.
